HackaSCOM returns this year again for the ultimate Management Pack authoring showdown. HackaSCOM 2022 combines a conventional hackathon with System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) to bring together some of the greatest SCOM experts in a super existing 24-hour challenge.
Our Senior Principal Consultant and 6-times Microsoft MVP Stoyan Chalakov will be part of the jury also this year, sharing the stage with Microsoft MVP and Managing Consultant Bob Cornelissen and Aakash Basavaraj, who is the Product Manager of the Microsoft System Center Suite, part of which is also SCOM.
During the last couple of months, the SCOM community voted on the MP authoring challenges, which are going to be assigned as a mission to the participating experts. The experts will then share their initial thoughts on the challenge they have been assigned and the judges will start a timer, giving the contestants a mere 24-hours to complete their build.
In the second part of the event, the experts are center-stage to showcase their work live to the judicial panel, who then will critique their approach and nominate a winner. The event is a great opportunity to get first-hand MP authoring tips and tricks and see how our pros built their custom MPs.
After the event the organizers will share a deep blog on each of the contestant’s work, containing links to the source code written, so you can put it into practice in your own SCOM deployment.
